About Much Ado
The war has ended, and the men are returning home victorious. Don Pedro, the Prince of Arragon, and his compatriots Benedick and Claudio have stopped at the home of Leonato, the Governor of Messina, for a brief respite on their return. Young Claudio has caught the eye of Leonato’s daughter, Hero, and before long, they are engaged to be wed. Meanwhile, tensions and old resentments flare between Benedick and Leonato’s niece Beatrice. Don Pedro enlists the other characters into a plan to turn the pair’s fiery, hateful passions toward one another and watch them fall desperately in love with one another. But all is not as well as it seems, as Don Pedro’s bastard brother Don John hatches a plan to throw this idyllic love story into disarray. It falls upon the lovably dim Dogberry and the rest of the Watch to get to the bottom of this plot and bring us to a satisfying conclusion.

As is true in all seasons, summer weather can be unpredictable in Pittsburgh, so here is some information on our protocols around inclement weather to help keep everyone safe as we enjoy Outdoor Summer Shakespeare together!
All performances will move forward in the stated location as planned, unless we communicate otherwise. In the event of light rain, wind, or normally elevated summer temperatures, we will proceed with an outdoor performance. We may make small adjustments to the performance, or delay or pause the performance for up to 20 minutes until weather conditions improve.
In the event of extreme weather, we will communicate a change to an indoor location through social media and our ticketing page no less than two hours before the scheduled curtain time. Weather events that will necessitate moving a performance indoors include:
-A greater than 50% chance of thunder and lightning during the show
-A heat index of 95 degrees or more during the show
-An air quality alert
-Any other combination of conditions that we deem as unsafe for outdoor performance
If dangerous and conditions materialize after we have made an official call, we may delay, pause, or cancel the performance altogether. We will pause any performance for a minimum of 10 minutes if there is a recorded lightning strike within 5 miles of the performance space.
